Random Deity Generator

Ok so its been a bit longer than I planned, life does that at times. That and trying to get this bloody thing finished took more time than I thought.

So what is this? Well if you are tired of all the pre-generated deities in your game worlds, or in your fiction writing, Sunday worship, or whatever. The following series of tables will give you a method to create completely random deities, or even a full on pantheon if you like. You will need several dice to go through the whole thing. Classic D&D sets of dice work perfectly.

Now then there are bits in here that are more mature audience than others. Obviously this is also not something for folks who are highly religious or easily offended. So if you be an unsupervised child, troll, or easily offended person… please go somewhere else and dont read the rest of this post.

The table below is kinda hard to read… it did not transfer well and I dont know enough web stuff to make it all cool looking. There does not seem to be a way to put on an attachment… so… if you want a better copy message me privately and I will send you one.

OK so I rolled up two random deities and here’s what I came up with:

Daresso – The God of Animals

Daresso is a god who has two very different sides and can display either at any time. On one hand he can be honest, fair, and will do anything to help his worshipers and flock. When he displays this side of his personality his love for those loyal to him knows no bounds. Unfortunately at other times his love…knows no bounds. He has been known to get with any and all of his worshipers, regardless of gender (though he does seem to stick to those that resemble him in appearance, i.e. humans); he has a supernatural (literally) sexual appetite. When he displays his other half the fairness he is known for goes right out the window and he can be incredibly biased towards any and all, but especially towards non-believers and his rival gods, both of whom he despises.

Dealing with Daresso is always a nerve-wracking propisition, because you never know which side of the coin you’ll be dealing with.

(Single, human, male, honest, fair, biased, gluttonous, bisexual any gender, children needing guidance, smite all atheists and other gods, god of animals)

Velent – The God of Logic

If Velent were a poker player (and perhaps he is), he would be labeled a TAG – tight and aggressive. Velent analyzes every situation thoroughly and diligently, but when he comes to a conclusion about what needs to be done he wastes no time or effort in carrying out his conclusions. Those who are not familiar with him can be shocked by the incredible mayhem and destruction he brings about when logic demands he do so.

He is mostly a very open and welcoming god. He regularly consults and teams up with his fellow deities, and he will spare no effort to help his flock. The exception is atheists, whom he will aggressively persecute at every opportunity. If they don’t believe in him, then nothing he does to them should be a problem, according to his logic.

Velent appears in plant form as a giant mound of grass to those who see him. He’s willing to interact with all, except the atheists, but only has relations with other plant-like beings.

(Single, sexless, plant – grasslike, clear-headed, faithful, destructive, aggressive, straight only with a certain group, children needing guidance, atheists = parasites, other gods = loyal allies, god of logic)

Fun! You put a lot of effort into making that chart, I figured I should at least try it out : )
